Vince the Man! - Vince started out with piano lessons in 3rd grade but soon switched to drums. He took up guitar in college because drums couldn't go. In Vince’s teens he landed a regular gig at a dinner theater, playing drums in a duo with a piano player. About the same time, he launched a progressive rock band playing Yes, Genesis, ELP, and Gentle Giant tunes, and was forever hooked on experimental music. Vince now enjoys band building for local gigs.
Katrina sings it out! - Katrina sings lead and backup vocals, plays keys, and rocks it with the rest of the band. She loves a high energy song that gets everyone in the groove and moving to the music. Katrina also does Improv and is a member of the Studio 33 Actor's Collective. Put your hands together and get up and dance
Swigg is the Boss of the Bass - If he hasn't tried it yet, it's quite possible that he still will. Staying in shape and eating good food are his current day to day passions. "Laws that affect my free way of living should be abolished." Swigg started playing bass around 10 years ago because there were too many rhythm guitar players in the garage, and he has enjoyed playing bass in the band ever since. Anyone up for hang-gliding?
Jimmy hails from Birmingham, Alabama where he began playing in bands at age 11, amid the music explosion of the 60’s. During High School yrs. his 8-piece band performed now-classic rock & soul music throughout the state & mid-south at dances, college frat parties & social events. Jim relocated to California in ‘70 and began playing acoustic-based country, bluegrass & swing tunes professionally with Escapade/Swing Fever (’74-’80) at restaurants, clubs, & colleges from the Bay Area to Oregon. HIs subsequent bands have played local clubs & venues doing a variety of jazz, rock, soul styles, including: The Bat Boys (’84-‘92), Jazzed (’04-’06) and High Mileage (’09-’20).
The energy of performing live, with a fellowship of players, for people who love to listen and/or dance to live music, is a constantly renewing/evolving process.
It is among the most rewarding moments for a musician…Count Jimmy in, on all that!
Corey started out playing trumpet and still plays in his local community bands. Once he saw Ringo on the Ed Sullivan show, he decided he wanted to play drums also, but dad said “Either the trumpet or drums”. However Corey wanted to play both. He wanted to be Ringo (drums) AND Miles Davis (trumpet) so his father made a deal with him - Take trumpet lesson and teach yourself drums. His dad said “It can’t be that hard, a note is a note is a note, sixteenth’s, eighth’s, quarter notes, they are all the same in music, whether drums or trumpet”. So Corey taught himself drums while taking trumpet lessons and the rest is history. And now he is here with these characters called Shrunken Heads (I bet that’s a headache in the making, it must hurt to have your head shrink). A little trivia: In High School, Corey used to tell everyone he played “drumpet”, which was a combination of drums and trumpet. Wasn’t he so clever?
